Bienvenue!
The Francophile Network (FN) connects Canadians who travel to or live in France and provides opportunities to share experiences and knowledge with others with common interests.
A small number of people who all had a passion for the culture, history and ambience of France initiated the Francophile Network in Vancouver several years ago. Whether regular visitors, part-time residents or simply dreamers, we are a group of people who share a love for France. We help one another to achieve our goals by sharing experiences, knowledge, companionship, and occasionally our “maison secondaire”.
We meet regularly for a wine and cheese party to renew acquaintances, share stories, and savour the tastes of France. Through this web site and a variety of events throughout the year, we hope to enhance our ability to be a resource for Canadians who wish to travel or live in France.

The latest issue is now available. It features practical information about what to do if you are Going To Live In France for longer than three months. Francophiles in France tells the stories of Francophiles who have moved to France permanently. Of course the Franco Chat wouldn’t be complete without a story or two from Chandler. This time we have his update on the Summer of ’07 and reflections on the demise of café society with the Last Smoke. Some practical tips and useful websites can be found in Building or Renovating in France and Virtual Street Walking introduces you to the invaluable Pages Jaunes. Company’s Coming tells of the trials of managing endless visitors and the wonderful Menu for French Brunch complete with recipes would create a lovely Sunday morning. Finally, a brief note on our Soirée Incroyable! at the French Consulate on March 7th. A truly elegant evening.
We have a new column The Francophile Tripper Report coming in the next issue. Members share their favourite places in France, B&Bs, house rentals and more! Do you have a favourite? Send in your submission to our Newsletter Editor.
If this is your first time visiting the Francophile Network website, check out the Franco Chat Newsletter for the Table of Contents of our last newsletter (to see what you are missing!) and download a sample past issue in PDF. Pour yourself a café au lait, sit back and enjoy!
